A fire led officials to evacuate a Pizza Hut in Central Pennsylvania on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 3. The fire broke out at the Pizza Hut located at 320 North Reading Road near the intersection when Dutchland Avenue in Ephrata at 12:05 p.m., according to Lancaster County Wide Communications. A major gas leak prompted evacuations in Palmer Township, authorities said. The incident occurred shortly before noon on Thursday, Aug. 8. Both lanes of travel on William Penn Highway were closed as a result of the leak between Stones Crossing Road and Sheridan Drive, police said.
