Students were on a school bus when gunshots came through the windshield, Chester County officials announced on Thursday night, Oct. 10. Coatesville School Dismisses Early For 'Unscheduled Water Shutoff'
Students at Scott Middle School in Coatesville were sent home early on Thursday, March 21 following an "unscheduled water shut off by American Water Company," district administrators said. "We apologize for the inconvenience and short notice; however, we have to prioritize the health and safety of our students and staff," Coatesville Area School District said on Facebook. Five Students Injured In Chesco School Bus Crash: Police
Authorities in Chester County are investigating after a school bus crash injured five students, officials say. It happened in Caln Township on Tuesday, March 14, said township police in a statement. The bus was near the corner of Foundry Street and Brooks Lane in Carver Court when it struck a "Flagger Force trailer and vehicle that was legally parked and unattended" at about 3:40 p.m., the department said. Chesco Teen Saves Choking Peer With Heimlich, District Says
A quick-thinking Chester County teen saved the life of a choking classmate, according to Coatesville Area School District officials. Coatesville High School student Jonathan Rivera forgot to take the cap off his asthma inhaler before using it, lodging the small piece of plastic in his windpipe, he told Local Daily News. That's when his classmate Jabari Stocker stepped in to render life-saving aid, the district said on Facebook. Rivera declined medical attention after the incident, the outlet said. Violent Threat Clears Suburban Philly High School Again: District
For at least the fourth time this month, Coatesville Area High School in Chester County suspended classes Thursday, Oct. 27 after administrators received a violent threat. For the second time in as many weeks, Coatesville Area High School was the subject of violent threats on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 13 and 14, authorities have announced. In a release from the Chester County District Attorney's Office, officials said classes were suspended Friday after threats were made on the anonymous tip-sharing app Safe2Say.
