Basketball legend Dikembe Mutombo, who played for the Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Nets and New York Knicks as part of a Hall of Fame career, died of brain cancer at the age of 58, the NBA announced on Monday, Sept. 30.

Vincent "Vince" John Mazzotta, a life member of the Darby Fire Co., died on Sunday, July 28. He was 62 years old.

Glen D. Golembeski II, an emergency medical technician in Bensalem, died after a period of illness on Sunday, Oct. 1, according to loved ones and former colleagues. He was 27.
A Doylestown native, Golembeski was a 2014 graduate of Central Bucks East High School, his obituary says. He went on to study forensic science at West Virginia University, according to his Facebook.

An independent laboratory is reporting that it has found a cancer-causing chemical in more batches of shampoo products.
Many brands of dry shampoo products -- including some Dove, Nexxus, Suave, TIGI, and TRESemmé products -- had already been recalled by manufacturer Unilever containing the cancer-causing chemical benzene in an announcement made on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

The former mayor of Lancaster, who survived armed robbery and cancer, Charlie Smithgall, has died at the age of 77, according to his family.
He passed at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 3:30 a.m., his wife Debbie Smithgall, told LNP.

Cancer Causing Weed Killer Found In Most Americans' Urine, Study Says
Monsanto, a weed killer known for causing cancer, was discovered in the urine of most Americans, according a multi-agency government study.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention program, the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey collected urine samples from participants ages six and up and found glyphosate in 1,885 of 2,310 samples, according to the study results.
The chemical is the active ingredient in Roundup weed killer, which is made by Monsanto, a company which has battled thousands of lawsuits over it's cancer causing properties.

A beloved Philadelphia area mom died after a six-and-a-half-month battle with cancer, her family said. She was 61.
Penny Jo Weigand, of Bristol, died on Friday, April 1, her obituary says. She was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in early September 2021, and had been fighting it ever since, according to a GoFundMe launched for her medical and funeral expenses.
