A car plowed into a home in Etters early Thursday morning, Sept. 12, fire officials announced. Firefighters were called to car into a home in the 2300 block of Old Trail Road at 12:36 a.m., according to the Newberry Township Fire Department and York County Department of Emergency Services. The front end of the sedan was inside the home when firefighters arrived, as seen in photos they shared. No injuries were reported. The estimated cost of the damage was unavailable.

Man Dead, 2 Critical After Falling From Cherry-Picker At Philly Construction Site: Police
A 47-year-old man was killed and two other men were in critical condition after falling two stories from a cherry-picker truck Friday afternoon, Sept. 6 in Philadelphia, authorities said. The incident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. at a construction site on the 4400 block of Moravian Court, Philadelphia police said. Driver Plunges Into Schuylkill River In Philly
A car drove into the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, authorities said. At about 3:40 a.m., an unusual incident occurred at 1273 Kelly Drive in the 22nd District. Police and fire department personnel responded to a 911 call reporting that a black four-door sedan had been seen driving into the river. The vehicle was located; however, at press time no driver or passenger had been located, police said. The investigation is active and ongoing.

A 21-year-old Bucks County man died nine days after being struck by a falling tree branch when he was removing a tree, authorities said. Jesse Owens of East Rockhill Township was pronounced dead on Sunday, Aug. 11 at about 3 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. The cause of death is complications of blunt force trauma to the head, the coroner said. Officials are looking for the loved ones of a New Jersey woman who died on Friday, July 12. Shirley J. Smith, 77, of Belvidere, broke her right femur in a fall and died from complications at St. Luke's University Hospital in Bethlehem, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. An 89-year-old Pennsylvania man died of serious burns suffered while burning brush at his home last month, officials said. Leo C. Pavelco, of Slatington, was burning brush at his home when his clothing caught fire around 5 p.m. April 22, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said. Pavelco was hospitalized with burns covering 30.5% of his body, and died on May 3, just after 8 p.m., at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Buglio said.

Eighty-four-year-old Helen R. Werley died after her car struck another vehicle in Lynn Township on Thursday, April 11, according to the Lehigh County Coroner. Officials said Werley, of Weisenberg Township, died from multiple blunt-force injuries. The manner of death was accidental. A driver who was ejected from her vehicle in a crash on Feb. 3 has died from her injuries, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office on Monday, April 1. Iris Crystal Mercado, 37, died from multiple traumatic injuries, the coroner said in a release. Her manner of death was accidental. The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of Route 22 South Whitehall on the night of Feb. 3, officials said. State police have said Mercado lost control of her Ford Focus and struck an embankment before the car rolled over and she was ejected.

Police are investigating a single-car crash in Lansdale on Wednesday night, March 28, authorities say. It happened on the 200 block of North Broad Street around 9 p.m., police said in a release.
