27-Year-Old Killed By Allentown Police Identified
The man shot and killed by police in Allentown early on Monday, July 24 has been identified as 27-year-old Dominick Hogans. Hogans was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest around 4:30 a.m., said Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio in a release. City police said they were called to the corner of 6th and Turner streets around 3:40 a.m. for reports of a "male waving a firearm." Officers said the man "fled on foot" after they arrived and a chase ensued. Authorities claim the man "brandished a firearm and fired at officers" before they "returned fire, striking the suspect." Teen Football Player Killed In Allentown Shooting Was 'Full Of Life'
The William Allen High School football team is mourning the loss of one of its own. Treshawn J. Tracy, 15, died on Sunday, Sept. 25 after being shot in the area of 6th Street and Tilghman Street in Allentown, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. The Allentown boy was pronounced dead at the scene around 3:15 p.m. and his death was ruled a homicide, the coroner said. Tracy was a sophomore at the high school and a junior varsity football player, a school district spokesperson confirmed to The Morning Call.
