Police: Chester County SUV Seller Scammed Victim Out Of $3,800

A 35-year-old Chester County woman is facing charges for scamming an alleged victim out of $3,800 after agreeing to sell them an SUV then never providing it, authorities said.

Erica Hartford, of Paoli, took the money from the victim last fall then failed to repay him after having been given time to do so, West Chester police said.

Hartford was taken into custody on Feb. 4 and charged with one count of theft by unlawful taking.
