Police were dispatched to the 500 block of Lincoln Street just before 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11 for a reported disturbance involving a firearm, the department said in a release.

There, witnesses told officers that 51-year-old Robert Fornwalt of Kirkwood took out a gun during an argument and pointed it at them.

Police said the group of witnesses were able to overpower and disarm Fornwalt, but that a physical fight ensued. Booking photos show Fornwalt with bruises on his face.

Fornwalt was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and carrying without a license — all felonies — and related offenses, authorities said. He was booked in Chester County Prison and released on $15,000 bail, according to officials.
