Passenger Dies After Carbon County Wreck: Coroner
A Lower Towamensing man died days after a car he was riding in crashed in Montour County. Jason Reed was the passenger in a vehicle that wrecked on Ashtown Road in Mahoning Township on Friday, May 24, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. He was taken to University Hospital in Bethlehem where he died from complications of multiple traumatic injuries on Tuesday morning, officials said. His manner of death was accidental. Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash, the Coroner's Office added.

Bus Hits Pedestrian In North Philadelphia: SEPTA
One person was hospitalized after being struck by a bus in Philadelphia's Hunting Park on Monday night, May 27. SEPTA said it happened near the corner of 13th Street and Erie Avenue around 9 p.m. The pedestrian was hit by the left side mirror of a Route 56 bus, according to transit officials. "The pedestrian was taken to the hospital in critical condition, however, the injuries are reported to be non-life threatening," a spokesperson said. No one on the bus was injured, they added.

Carbon County Motorcyclist, 33, Killed In Whitehall Crash: Coroner
Authorities are investigating the crash that killed a Penn Forest man on Thursday night, May 23. James J. Gallagher, 33, was riding his motorcycle on Fullerton Avenue in Whitehall when he lost control and struck a curb, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. He was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg where he died from multiple traumatic injuries around 8:50 p.m., the Coroner said. His manner of death was ruled accidental. In addition to the Coroner's Office, Whitehall police are investigating.

Dauphin County Man Killed In York Motorcycle Crash: Troopers
Authorities have named the 21-year-old motorcyclist killed in a Fairview Township crash on Sunday, May 19. Issaiha Seiders was headed north in the left lane of Interstate 83 when he merged right into the center lane, state police said in a release. As he began to pass a Ford Fusion in the left lane, the Ford merged right, striking Seiders' motorcycle and knocking onto the right shoulder, according to troopers. Authorities are responding to a crash in the southbound lanes of the Route 611 bypass on Monday evening, May 20. It happened near Route 202, Doylestown police said around 5:30 p.m. The southbound lanes of the bypass are closed as officials investigate and drivers should seek an alternate route, they added.

Crews will begin roadwork in Nether Providence on Monday, May 20 and will continue through Friday, May 24, township police say. Downed Pole Causes Power Outage, Detours Traffic In Allentown: Police
A utility pole is down at North 15th and Utica streets in Allentown, police said Friday morning, May 17. Authorities said it happened around 6 a.m. A power outage is affecting residents of several blocks nearby and PPL is on the scene, police said. Drivers are being asked to avoid the intersection until further notice. Police said they will issue an update when the intersection is clear.
