The porch of a duplex caught on fire on Thursday, July 25, Ephrata police explained in a release the following morning. The fire broke out at the duplex in the first block of North Church Street at 7:37 p.m., police detailed in the release. "Police and fire officials determined that the fire was not suspicious and that the origin of the fire was a cigarette ash can on the back porch," as stated in the release. While crews were at the scene, a BMW driver "carelessly parked in front of a fire hydrant," leading the police to issue a citation, they wrote in the release. …

A man who was found dead in the Delaware River on Thursday, July 26 has been identified, Philadelphia police announced in an updated release the following morning. Darnell Dogan, 42, of the 4600 block of Ditman Street, was found near North Delaware and Linden avenues in Torresdale around 3:30 p.m., authorities wrote. He was pulled from the river by a PPD marine unit and pronounced dead at 4:20 p.m. on Thursday. Detectives are investigating, the department added. Victims ID'd After Deadly Mass Shooting In Philadelphia
The three men who died in the mass shooting in Carroll Park on Sunday, June 21 have been identified by police. Akil Jones, 33, Rashie Jones, 29, and Sekayi Robinson, 23, died after gunfire rang out at a cookout on the 1200 block of North Alden Street around 2 a.m., according to authorities.
