Ridgewood Parks Employee John Quinn Dies, 34 John Quinn, a father and employee of the Ridgewood Parks Department, died suddenly on Thursday, Jan. 16. He was 34 years old. John, of Hewitt, worked in the Village's Shade Tree Division since 2021, records show. His obituary on the Vander Plaat Vermeulen website says: Known for his strong sense of family and unwavering support for his loved ones, John was a pillar of his community, always ready with a helping hand and a friendly word. Fiery Crash Involving Fallen Wires Outside SoJo Spa Knocks Power In Edgewater Hundreds of Edgewater residents were left without power on Sunday morning, Jan. 19, following a fiery crash. The crash happened just before 8:30 a.m. outside SoJo Spa at 725 River Road, and left wires across the roadway, the fire department said. Richard Madonna, who was shopping at Trader Joe's on River Road at the time, said the lights went out suddenly. Stepping outside, he spotted a car engulfed in flames across the street.  According to the PSE&G outage map, approximately 380 residents in Edgewater were affected by the power outage. Passenger, 22, Killed In Route 80 Crash: Njsp A 22-year-old Union City man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Route 80 early Saturday, Jan. 18, authorities said. A Honda driven by a 22-year-old Belleville man was heading west when it veered off the road and struck a tree in Knowlton near milepost 6.2 around 3:05 a.m., according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan. The driver sustained minor injuries in the crash, while one passenger, a 19-year-old Passaic man, suffered moderate injuries. Norton Segarra, 74, of Beacon, NY was heading south when he veered into the northbound lanes and was struck by a tractor-trailer driven by a 60-year-old Milford, CT man around 1:30 p.m. near Route 403 in Garrison, County Sheriff Kevin J.
