Northampton Township police were "justified" when they killed 40-year-old Mark Chambers at his Churchville home last month, according to the District Attorney's Office. The police killing of a 69-year-old woman in front of her Upper Moreland home last month was a justified use of deadly force, says the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office. Mary Meister was pronounced dead at Abington Hospital after police shot her several times on Oct. 8, Daily Voice reported. 'Person In Crisis' Rescued From Ledge Of Allentown Bridge
Police in Lehigh County rescued a man apparently threatening to jump off the ledge of an Allentown bridge Monday night, authorities said. With help from the Allentown Fire Department, officers were able to convince the man to come back over the ledge of the 8th Street Bridge around 11 p.m., after nearly four hours on the scene, Allentown police said. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard was temporarily closed to eastbound and westbound traffic below the bridge.
