Bucks Man Charged In Deadly 2022 Drug Overdose: Officials
A former Springfield resident was arrested this week in connection with a 2022 drug death, said the Bucks County District Attorney's Office. William R. Wright was taken into custody on Tuesday, June 18 following an "extremely lengthy investigation," said prosecutors in a release. Authorities say the charges stem from a death at Springfield's Scenic View Apartments nearly two years ago. More than 23,000 doses of fentanyl, nearly 30 homemade firearms and a host of parts designed to create fully-automatic machine guns were seized in the takedown of a drug and gun trafficking network run by New Jersey members of the Latin Kings, federal authorities announced. Springfield Woman Rushed To Hospital Following Overnight House Fire
A Springfield woman was rushed to the hospital after a fire engulfed her home early Wednesday morning, authorities said. Crews responded to a home in the 400 block of North Rolling Road where a fire broke out just before 12:30 a.m. and pulled a woman to safety, according to Springfield Fire Company. Medics rushed her to a local hospital where her condition is unknown, authorities said. Fire crews say the fire was quickly contained but hoarding conditions delayed overhaul operations. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
