Power Outages Reported Across Pennsylvania After Overnight Storms
Thousands of Pennsylvanians are still without power after severe thunderstorms downed trees across the region on Tuesday, July 16. The outages are mostly concentrated in the following areas, according to the PPL and Met-Ed outage maps: Fontaine Atglen Wyomissing Lanark Hanover Brogue/Collinsville Emigsville Tinicum (Bucks) Met-Ed offered no immediate timeline for the restoration of service to more than 17,000 customers without power. Power Outage Closes Elementary School In Allentown
Allentown's Ramos Elementary School is closed on Tuesday, May 28 due to a power outage, district officials say. Jackson Early Childhood Center is also closed for the day, administrators said. No other Allentown schools are affected by the outage. According to the PPL outage map, the issue was caused by a tripped breaker or blown fuse. Crews have been dispatched to make repairs and PPL said they hope to restore power by 3:30 p.m.

Downed Pole Causes Power Outage, Detours Traffic In Allentown: Police
A utility pole is down at North 15th and Utica streets in Allentown, police said Friday morning, May 17. Authorities said it happened around 6 a.m. A power outage is affecting residents of several blocks nearby and PPL is on the scene, police said. Drivers are being asked to avoid the intersection until further notice. Police said they will issue an update when the intersection is clear.

A girl is in the Lehigh Valley Burn Unit and her dad has died following a fire in the apartment building attached to the Bausman Post Office in Lancaster Township on Tuesday, Feb. 13, fire officials announced later that day. The cause of death has been released for a man found dead after a "domestic incident" turned standoff ending with a house fire, the Lancaster County Coroner explained. Mark D. Hackman, 53, of 6294 High Street in East Petersburg Borough, died by a self-inflicted gunshot to the head, and the manner was suicide, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Eric Bieber. Power Knocked Out When Driver Crashes Into Utility Pole In Lititz: Police (

Power should be restored by 5:30 p.m. after a SUV plowed into a utility pole in Lititz on April 4, 2023. The Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department responded to a call of a vehicle accident with injuries in the 400 bock of Owl Hill Road Tuesday afternoon. The driver left the road way for an unknown reason and struck a PPL power pole. The driver was hurt, but the extent of their injuries is unknown. PPL is in the area making repairs. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Substation Fire Causes Knocks Power Around Allentown, City Says
A fire at an electrical substation left parts of Allentown without power early on Monday, Nov. 7, city officials said. City Hall announced that large swaths of Center City, and First Ward, and "other areas" were le without electricity in a Tweet just before 9 a.m. Fire officials identified a substation blaze as the cause of the blackout at around the same time. Thousands Without Power In Lehigh Valley Dump Truck Crash: Report
A Tuesday morning dump truck crash caused power outages for residents in Lehigh County, LehighValleyLive reports. Nearly 1,400 PPL customers lost power following the crash, which took down wires on Jordan Parkway near Route 145 in Whitehall Township around 9 a.m., the outlet says.
