Barbie is making history with a new doll aimed at uplifting children with diabetes. Mattel has launched its first Barbie doll with Type 1 diabetes, the company announced on Tuesday, July 8. The new doll wears a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) on her arm, secured with heart-shaped medical tape in signature Barbie pink. The new doll is part of the 2025 Barbie Fashionistas line, which includes more than 175 diverse dolls. Peloton Launches Reselling Marketplace For Used Bikes, Other Equipment
If your Peloton has become a clothes rack, you can now turn it into cash. Peloton launched its new reselling platform called Repowered on Tuesday, June 3. The online marketplace will allow customers to buy or sell used equipment. Repowered is rolling out in the Boston, New York City, and Washington, DC, areas. Sellers can set their own prices and get guidance from the artificial intelligence-powered tool Archive. Buyers can benefit from a discount on the equipment activation fee. 2.2 Million Peloton Bikes Recalled
Millions of Peloton users are being instructed to hit the brakes and exercise elsewhere due to faulty seats that could create a safety concern. Peloton announced a recall of approximately 2.2 million bikes that have seat post assemblies that can break during use, posing a fall and injury hazard, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced. To date, there have been 35 reports of the seat post breaking, including 13 reports of injuries that ranged from a fractured wrist, to lacerations and bruises due to people falling. Peloton Recalls Treadmills After 72 Injuries, 1 Child Death Reported
Peloton recalled all of its treadmill machines Wednesday. The popular exercise equipment company issued an apology for not acting faster on reports of nearly 72 injuries and the death of a 6-year-old child, who was pulled under the rear of a treadmill. Of the 72 injuries, 29 were to children such as second- and third-degree abrasions, broken bones, and lacerations, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
