Teen Duo Charged With Murder Of 70-Year-Old In West Philly Carjacking: Police
A 70-year-old man was ambushed and gunned down during a carjacking in West Philadelphia—and now two teenagers are facing murder charges, authorities announced.
Carmen Suero Jr., 70, of Drexel Hill, was shot in the back during an attempted robbery on the 300 block of North 63rd Street around 5:07 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, Philadelphia police said.
Officers rushed to the scene after reports of a person with a gun. They found Suero wounded beside his vehicle and rushed him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 5:24 p.m., according to police.

Norman Fred Pennington, 67, was found guilty of First-Degree Murder in the April 2024 killing of Anthony Decenzo, a retired father and grandfather from Brownsville. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole immediately following the verdict.

A Bucks County judge found Justin D. Mohn guilty on all counts on Friday, July 11, in the brutal shooting and beheading of his father, a federal engineer, in their Levittown home.
