Duo Charged In Week-Long Allentown Robbery Spree, Police Say
A man and a woman sit in Lehigh County jail after police say they masterminded a string of robberies across Allentown over the last week.
Tyson J. Sydoriak, 48, and Jillian Pittman, 40, are each charged with four counts of robbery, simple assault, and related offenses, said Allentown police and the District Attorney's Office in a joint release.
Police say the pair robbed the A1 Express Market, 802 N. 10th Street, as well as Hirsch's Market, 131 S. 17th Street, both on Friday, April 7.

What began in a Macungie Turkey Hill ended with a struggle in the street on Thursday, after police say a man assaulted gas station customers and then led officers on a brief chase.
Ryan J. Jacobs, 44, of Temple, is charged with fleeing law enforcement, resisting arrest, simple assault, and related counts, Macungie police wrote in a release.
Officers were called to the Turkey Hill at 141 W. Main St. on April 6, where an employee said Jacobs had "grabbed her" and "smashed her cell phone to prevent her from calling police," the department said.

A small arsenal of guns and a large quantity of drugs were recovered in a raid on a Lehigh County man's home, authorities have announced.
Allentown police executed a search warrant at the East Court Street home of Jonathan Rodriguez Rosado, 38, just after 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 20, local police said in a press release.
There, officials said they seized no less than seven firearms as well as heroin, cocaine, marijuana, and some unspecified pills. It's not clear what prompted investigators to obtain the search warrant.

A 40-year-old woman was arrested for shooting and killing her roommate in their Lehigh Valley home, WFMZ reports.
Salisbury Township police officers were called just before 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1 to a home on the 700 block of East Federal Street, where they found 37-year-old Tracy Lynn Hoffman dead inside a bedroom, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said in a Tuesday, Aug. 2 release.

Allentown police have made an arrest in a stabbing that happened last week.
Gary Mertz, 55, was nabbed on the 3000 block of Klein Street on Monday, July 25 for the stabbing of a 33-year-old man, Allentown police said.
The incident happened on 31st Street SW and Berger Street around 5:40 p.m. Friday, July 22, police said.
The unidentified victim was taken to a local hospital, where he is expected to survive.
Mertz, of Allentown, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and simple assault.

An 18-year-old man was arrested after threatening to shoot an Allentown convenience store clerk who asked him to leave his dog outside, authorities said.
Jason Rodriguez-Roman, of Allentown, apparently refused the cashier's request and pulled out a handgun at the North Sixth Street store Monday, May 23, before fleeing the scene, Allentown police said.
Police identified the suspect as Rodriguez-Roman after reviewing surveillance footage from the area, they said.

A Lehigh Valley man wanted in a deadly hit-and-run crash in Allentown was arrested Wednesday, May 10, authorities said.
Jose Rainer Gonzalez-Roman, 29, was being held in Lehigh County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail, Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin said in a joint release.

Two people were arrested after an early morning robbery in Allentown on Wednesday, April 20, authorities said.
Chakina Leftwich, 28, of Newark, NJ, and Shantel Collins, 33, of Allentown, were charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and simple assault in the incident on the 600 block of North Front Street around 4:55 a.m., Allentown police said.
Officers were given a description of the suspects and their vehicle, they said. The pair were arrested after police spotted their car.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

Allentown police have arrested a man they say opened fire in a local park Monday, Feb. 21.
Officers were called to Cedar Beach Park on a report of shots fired at around 5:30 p.m., police said.

A drug bust in Allentown turned up eight pounds of marijuana, 24 grams of cocaine, 10 grams of Fentanyl, an unregistered handgun, and one arrest, authorities said.
David Rivera, 34, was arrested after the items were seized from the home in the 300 Block of Law Street around noon Thursday, Allentown police said in a Friday release.
