Crash Involving Philadelphia Firetruck Kills Woman, Police Say A 23-year-old woman is dead following a crash with a Philadelphia Fire Department truck, city police announced on Saturday evening, Aug. 24.  The PFD Ladder truck was heading west on Lehigh Avenue when a passenger vehicle traveling north on West Sedgley Avenue pulled out in front of them at the intersection in the District 22 at 12:10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, PPD detailed in the release. Philadelphia Fire Sends Five To Hospital, Officials Say More than 75 Philadelphia firefighters responded to an early morning blaze in Strawberry Mansion on Tuesday, March 12, according to authorities.  First responders were called to the 2800 block of Lehigh Avenue just after 3 a.m., a PFD spokesperson told Daily Voice.  Five people were treated at the scene by EMS and then taken to area hospitals, the department said.  Firefighters were on the scene for over an hour, they added.  PFD is reminding residents that free smoke alarms are available by calling 311 or 215-686-8686.

Missing Teen Sought In Northeast Philadelphia: Police Authorities in Philadelphia are looking for a 15-year-old boy who hasn't been seen since  Saturday, March 2.  Christopher Hackimer was last spotted around 10:30 a.m. on the 4500 block of McKinley Street in Wissinoming, according to city police. Officials believe he frequents the area near Lehigh Avenue and Kensington Avenue.  He is 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds and was last seen wearing a black and white "Backwoods" hoodie with blue sweatpants, police added.  Anyone with information can call detectives at 215-686-3153.
