A Lancaster man is accused of ditching a bag full of drugs while fleeing city police on Sunday night, May 19. Jose Burgos-Garcia, 29, is charged with possession with intent to deliver, authorities said in a release. Police said they were called to a home on the 200 block of Ruby Street around 10 p.m. for a reported domestic disturbance. Lancaster police have charged arrested two men with raping a 16-year-old victim in the city in 1997, one who was an officer tasked with the initial investigation. Andrew Selby, 54, and Roberto Rosario, 44, became the center of an investigation in March 2024, when Detective Sgt. Jessica Higgins was made aware of one alleged incident. Higgins spoke with a victim who detailed violent abuse by Rosario in Lancaster City in late 1997, police said. A fryer fire affected school drop-off in Lancaster on Friday morning, according to the police. Firefighters were called to the fire at the McDonald's located at 575 North Franklin Street in Lancaster at 6:59 a.m. on May 10, Lancaster County Wide Communication detailed. A major retailer primarily located in malls and headquartered in Pennsylvania is set to close all 543 of its stores following its third Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.
