A father and son accused of swarming high-end stores across southeastern Pennsylvania with a “blitz-style” theft crew have been charged, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced on Wednesday, May 21.
Jamai Richards, 21, and his 43-year-old father, Donis Richards — both of Philadelphia — were charged in Montgomery County with Felony Corrupt Organizations, Felony Conspiracy, and related offenses after a months-long investigation into the so-called “5th Street Crew.”

Kohl’s Closing 27 Stores Across The US Including In PA
Kohl’s announced Thursday, Jan. 9, the closure of 27 underperforming stores, including locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Virginia, as part of its 2025 real estate changes.
The closures are expected to be finalized by April 2025 and are part of the company’s strategy to strengthen its store portfolio while adapting to evolving consumer trends. Among the affected locations are stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Virginia.

Firearm, Drugs Recovered In Bensalem Traffic Stop: Police
A routine traffic stop led to two arrests in Bensalem, township police said in a release.
Officers stopped a Chevrolet Tahoe for a faulty brake light, a broken mirror, and a suspended registration on Saturday, April 13, authorities said.
Police said the driver, 33-year-old Brittany Dougherty of Philadelphia, was found to have a warrant for theft at a Bensalem Kohl's, a warrant for burglary in Camden, New Jersey, and a warrant for robbery out of Evesham, New Jersey.

A suspect is in custody after robbing a Bensalem bicyclist at gunpoint, township police say.
Antwan Clayton Jones, 42, of Ellenville, New York, is charged with robbery, terroristic threats, and related counts, the department wrote in a release.
It happened on Monday, July 31 in the parking lot of the Street Road Kohl's, police said.
The victim had just withdrawn cash from an ATM and was beginning to ride away on his bike when a man pulled up in a car and hopped out brandishing a gun, investigators wrote.

Easton High School Grad, Northampton Community College Student Briana Hoops Dies At Age 21
Easton native and Northampton Community College Student Briana Jane Hoops died at her home on July 3 at the age of 21.
Born in Bethlehem, Hoops graduated from Easton High School in 2017, her obituary says.
Hoops, a member of the Christian faith, was currently attending Northampton Community College, her memorial says.
She was also a dedicated worker at Kohl’s department store and Cece J’s Snacks.
In her free time, Hoops loved reading, shopping, and her dog, Miley.
