Finger Cuts Prompt Recall Of Garlic Presses Sold At Popular Retailer
Tens of thousands of garlic presses are being recalled due to a defect that could lead to cuts or swallowed metal fragments. IKEA issued the recall for about 43,830 of its 365+ VÄRDEFULL garlic presses, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, July 31. About 10,700 were also sold in Canada. Small metal pieces can detach from the garlic presses, creating risks of swallowing the fragments or being cut by them. IKEA is testing out a collaboration with Best Buy to sell some of its furniture at the electronics giant's stores. Best Buy and IKEA will begin a pilot program in the fall to have IKEA products in Best Buy locations, the chains announced in a joint news release on Thursday, July 31. Most families are already hunting for back-to-school deals in the summer heat. Roughly two-thirds (67%) of families with children in kindergarten through 12th grade had started shopping by early July, according to the National Retail Federation. A Camden teen admitted to committing two armed carjackings in south Philadelphia, one at a Wawa and the other involving an Uber driver, authorities said. Zamer Williams, 19, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, Dec. 17 to two counts of carjacking and one count of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Jacqueline Romero said in a news release. An 18-year-old Pennsylvania man was found with a replica BB gun by officers responding to an illegal car meetup in Paramus, NJ this weekend, police said. Paramus officer Conner Nutland was responding to the meetup involving about 500 vehicles at the Sports Authority parking lot on Route 4 West when he saw a 2011 white Chevy Cruze parked in the adjacent Ikea parking lot around 1 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, Paramus Police Chief Robert Guidetti said. Recall Issued For Brand Of Mirrors Due To Laceration Hazard
IKEA is recalling a brand of mirrors due to a laceration hazard. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the plastic fittings of the recalled IKEA LETTAN mirrors that attach to the wall can break, causing the mirror to fall, posing the risk of laceration to consumers. A swivel chair brand is being recalled due to fall and injury hazards. IKEA and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that the leg base of the ODGER swivel chair in the anthracite color (dark tone of gray) can break, posing fall and injury hazards. Gunman Wanted In I-95 Road Rage Shooting Surrenders To Police In DelCo
A man wanted in a road rage shooting on I-95 turned himself in to Pennsylvania State Police in Media on Wednesday, authorities said. Zion I. Blyden, 21, is facing charges of attempted homicide aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person in connection with the Sept. 12 incident.
