Fire Forces Evacuations At Bridgeport Suites, Residents In Need Of Aid (Video) A fast-moving fire ripped through the Bridgeport Suites Apartment Complex early Tuesday, forcing evacuations and leaving residents without a home, officials said. Firefighters rushed to the 300 block of W. Third Street around 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 22, where they battled heavy smoke and flames, according to emergency responders. Crews with Squad 27 were first on the scene, working quickly to knock down the fire, while firefighters from Quint 27 used a ground ladder to rescue a resident trapped on a balcony.
