Unlicensed NJ Flight Instructor Indicted In PA Plane Crash That Killed IT Manager
A 36-year-old New Jersey unlicensed flight instructor who was in two prior crashes has been indicted in a third — a 2022 incident that killed his student pilot in Pennsylvania, authorities announced. Philip Everton McPherson II, 36, of Haddon Township, NJ, has been charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter and 40 counts of serving as an airman without a certificate, in connection with the crash on Sept. 28, 2022 in Salisbury Township, United States Attorney Jacqueline C. Major Philadelphia Flyers fan Gregory Brian Collier of Haddon Township died. He was 44 years old, according to an obituary published by Healey Funeral Home. Family and friends were invited to wear the professional hockey team's orange and black colors at his Saturday, Jan. 6 visitation and prayer service. And according to his mother, Peggy Collier, "almost everybody did." Greg died on Dec. 30, 2023, at Samaritan Hospice in Voorhees after a long illness. He suffered from Myotonic Dystrophy. Harrowing details are beginning to surface in the death of a South Jersey woman. After being charged with second-degree disturbing human remains, 53-year-old Carlos Acevedo, of Camden, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Cathleen McGrath, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez said. A South Jersey community was showing an outpouring of support after a middle school girl died after testing positive for COVID-19. Amelia Sophia Perry, 12 -- who also had diabetes -- died on Sept. 23, at Children's Hospital in Philadelphia. She was a seventh grader at William G.
