Salesman Tackles Gunman, Holds Him For Paramus PD During Route 4 Clothing Store Robbery
A suit salesman took down a gun-wielding robber and held him for police during the attempted holdup of a Route 4 men's clothing store in Paramus, authorities said.
Wearing cloth gloves and a mask, Kevin D. Howe, 29, of New Milford entered the Suit Store on Monday posing as a customer, Deputy Police Chief Robert M. Guidetti said.
“Give me all the money in the register,” Howe told the employee, he said.
The employee removed the bills, gave them to Howe, then tackled him when he turned his back, Guidetti said.
“I have a gun!” Howe shouted.

Teaneck Woman Assumes Dead Brother's ID To Get $20G In Social Security, Authorities Charge
A home health care worker from Teaneck assumed her dead brother’s identity to collect more than $20,000 in Social Security disability money, authorities charged.
Wanda Lynn Sermon, 55, “failed to notify the Social Security Administration of her brother’s death and instead assumed control of his bank account,” Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said Wednesday.
For the next 16 months, Musella said, Sermon “continued to access Social Security disability benefit funds intended for [him],” pocketing $20,438 in the process.

A Hackensack detective nabbed a Pennsylvania man with a loaded gun and more during a traffic stop, authorities said.
Narcotics Bureau Detective Kley Peralta pulled over the 2012 Honda for a moving violation in the area of Kennedy Street near Jackson Avenue shortly before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Detective Capt. Michael Antista said.
