A Dauphin County man who raped two spa workers at gunpoint before being shot by police as he fled has been sentenced to decades behind bars, the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office announced on Monday, Feb. 23. Christopher A. Rivera, 38, of Middletown Borough, was sentenced to 60 to 120 years in state prison by Judge Jeffrey Conrad on Friday after a jury found him guilty following a three-day trial in October. Boy Killed In Freak Accident Involving Backyard Pennsylvania Zipline, Cops Say
A 12-year-old boy was killed after a tree holding up a backyard zipline snapped and fell on him in Pennsylvania, authorities said. Emergency crews were called to a home on the 1400 block of Chadwyck Lane in East Hempfield Township around 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, March 30, for a medical emergency involving a child, according to East Hempfield Township police. Rookie Cop Awarded For Saving Berks Woman Attacked By Dog
Don't call it beginner's luck. Officer Justin Schlottman, the most recent hire at the Robeson Township Police Department in Berks County, was recognized by Reading Hospital after rendering vital first-aid to a dog bite victim, the department announced. According to his superiors, Officer Schlottman responded to a 911 call regarding a woman who was badly bleeding after being attacked by a dog.
