Erik Weidling, 21, of Enger, Germany, was sentenced to four and a half to 10 years in state prison after pleading guilty to involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful contact with a minor, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors, and criminal use of a communication facility, Lancaster County prosecutors said. Officer Heading To Scene Struck — Lights, Sirens Were On, Police Say A police vehicle had light and sirens engaged when it was struck on Tuesday morning, the Susquehanna Regional Police Department announced that same afternoon.  The officer was heading to assist a fellow patrolman when he was struck at 1195 River Road at the intersection with Route 772 East Donegal Township, the department detailed in the release. It happened at 11:22 a.m. on Feb. 20.  No injuries were reported.  The Pennsylvania State Police is investigating the crash.

3.4+Mil Birds Have Avian Flu In PA: USDA Three commercial chicken farms in central Pennsylvania have confirmed avian flu in their birds totaling over 3,450,100 within the state, according to an updated release from the US Department of Agriculture. The infected birds are all egg-laying chickens and all three farms are located in Lancaster County, according to the release. The first confirmed case of avian flu in Lancaster County was at a Kreider Farms facility in East Donegal Township, and the farm destroyed nearly 1.5 million chickens in response to the diagnosis, according to Pennsylvania Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding. …
