Crews Battle Early Morning Barn Fire In Berks County A barn in Bally Borough caught fire around 2 a.m. Monday, July 15, according to the Eastern Berks Fire Department.  The fire at the barn, located off South 7th Street, reached two alarms, authorities said. The barn contained hay and equipment but all the dairy cows on the property were in another structure and were not harmed, the department said.  Eastern Berks Fire Dept. Codey Prindle, 27 Of Boyertown, Killed Motorcycle Crash: PSP A 27-year-old motorcyclist died after an accident in Earl Township on Sunday, April 14, Pennsylvania State Police say.  Codey Prindle of Boyertown was headed south on Longview Road around 6:30 p.m. when his bike drifted into the gravel off the right shoulder, according to troopers.  He struck a tree and a mailbox and was fatally injured, authorities said.

Car Crashes Into Berks County Home First responders were called to an Earl Township neighborhood on Monday evening, Feb. 26 after a car slammed into a home, authorities say.  It happened near the corner of Ironstone Drive and Willow Road, the Earl Township Fire Company said on Facebook.  Crews arrived to find one person injured and treated them at the scene, officials said. Police ID Pedestrian Killed In Berks Hit-Run The pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run in Berks County Sunday night has been identified, authorities announced.  James Falasca-Carter Jr., 33, of Boyertown, was walking along Powder Mill Hollow Road in Earl Township at around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23 when a southbound car struck him, state police said in a press release.  A passing driver reported spotting his body early in the morning on Monday, Oct. 24, officials had previously said.  The striking vehicle was located last night and is in police custody awaiting processing. Marc Anthony Cruz, 30, of Lancaster, was arrested after riding his motorcycle at speeds greater than 100 MPH-- leading police on a chase that ended at his place of employment, according to the New Holland police department.
