A 56-year-old man suspected of driving under the influence hit a police officer with his vehicle while trying to flee on Friday, Nov. 3 around 3 a.m., Pittsburgh Public Safety Officer Cara Cruz told Daily Voice. A Pittsburgh police officer from Zone 3 pulled over the man on suspicion of a DUI at the intersection of McKinley Street and Grogan Avenue in the Knoxville neighborhood. Child Arrested Following Incident At Pennsylvania Middle School: State Police
A middle school student was arrested following an incident at his school, according to a release by Pennsylvania state police on Monday, Oct. 17. The state police were called to Bermudian Springs Middle School to investigate an incident of harassment on Oct. 4 at 1:54 p.m., as detailed in the release. During the investigation, police learned that a 12-year-old boy had struck a fellow student, a 12-year-old girl. Police, fire, and EMS crews were called to Lumber Street and North 1st Avenue around 1:25 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, a spokeswoman with the Chester County Department of Emergency Services told Daily Voice. Three people have died in a plane crash in West Virginia while flying from Indiana to Pennsylvania, authorities told numerous outlets on Thursday, August 11. The single-engine 1980 Piper PA-32-301 tail number N720RP crashed in a wooded area near Campbells Run Road in Metz, West Virginia, WV Metro News reports and FlightAware information confirms. A West Chester University student has tested positive for monkeypox, officials said. The unidentified commuter student is isolated and doing well, the university said in a statement released to Daily Voice Tuesday, July 12.
