After Fire, Neighbors Pitch In To Rebuild Philly Bar
After a fire left the Shipyard Bar in Philadelphia badly damaged and closed for business, its Port Richmond neighbors have stepped up to ease the burden.
It was after midnight on Monday, May 15 when the exterior of the bar, 2537 East Ontario St., suddenly caught fire, said neighbor Lexi Ellis.
Firefighters were on the scene within seconds and were able to keep the flames from spreading to other buildings, but the bar is now in need of serious repairs, according to Ellis.

Philly-Area Businesses Pick Up Pieces After Devastating Fire
The owners of two Philadelphia-area businesses are picking up the pieces after a devastating weekend fire.
A fire damaged the new location of Sophie's BBQ and Four Birds Distilling Co, on the 1900 block of Darby Road in Havertown. It broke out at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 22.
Although no one was hurt, this fire affects two family-owned businesses that have invested their hard work, passion, and finances into this establishment, said Caitlin Vogel of Paoli, PA, who is organizing this GoFundMe.

Beloved Philadelphia police officer and dad of twins Kevin Joseph Regan died suddenly on Saturday, Oct. 8. He was 30.
Born in Meadowbrook, Regan graduated from Abington Senior High School and Temple University, according to his obituary.
He served his community as a police officer in Philadelphia and leaves behind his wife Regan, and their 14-month-old sons, Declan and Maclan, according to a GoFundMe.

Community Rallies Behind PA Family Hit By Drunk Driver, Left With Medical Debt
A Pennsylvania community is rallying behind a tight-knit family after they were hit by a drunk driver on Sunday, Sept. 11, according to a fundraiser made on their behalf.
The crash sent Maureen Connolly and several members of the Stauffer family to the hospital, according to the GoFundMe based out of Malvern, PA.
