Comet Viewing Guide: Rare Naked-Eye Celestial Event To Hit Peak Brightness
A rare celestial event is set to dazzle skywatchers this month as a once-in-170,000-years comet nears peak visibility.
Comet C/2025 R3 (Pan-STARRS) is currently passing through the inner solar system, with its closest approach to the sun occurring on Sunday, April 19, and Monday, April 20. Its closest pass to Earth will follow on Sunday, April 26, and Monday, April 27, according to NASA and Space.com.
