Snow Emergencies Declared Across PA Ahead Of Storm
Officials are advising residents across southeastern and central Pennsylvania to take caution ahead of the snowstorm predicted for Friday, Jan. 19, according to National Weather Service meteorologists. Chester, Delaware, Philadelphia, and parts of lower Bucks and Montgomery counties are under a winter storm warning as of 5 p.m. Thursday. In Adams, Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Northampton, and upper Bucks and Montgomery counties, a winter weather advisory is in place. Allentown Police Chaplain Angel Ramos Dies: Officials
Angel Ramos, an Allentown pastor and longtime police chaplain, has died, the department announced on Thursday, Jan. 18. Ramos had served as APD's chaplain for 27 years, said Chief Charles Roca in a statement. "Pastor Ramos served the city and its residents with distinction," the chief said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family during this time." His Facebook profile says he studied at Colegio San José in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, and that he served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Ramos is survived by his wife.

New Forecast: Increased Snowfall Totals Expected, Arctic Temps To Follow Northeast Storm
Newly-released forecast maps show parts of the region could see up to six inches of snow in the end-of-week storm. Intermittent snow is expected to begin between 4 and 7 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, with the heaviest amounts falling in the afternoon, the National Weather Service said. Snow will fall at about 0.5 inches per hour and will taper by the evening, with temps in the upper 20s and low 30s, the NWS said. Gabriel Cartagena, the 44-year-old man wanted in connection with a double homicide last month in Allentown, has surrendered, police announced. Cartagena turned himself in on Thursday, Jan. 4, after warrants for his arrest on two counts of criminal homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and various weapons offenses were issued, Allentown Police Chief Charles Roca said. Officials Seek Relatives Of Late Allentown Man
Lehigh County officials are asking for the public's help in finding a late Allentown man's loved ones. Jerry Woodrow, 64, was pronounced dead on the 100 block of North 7th Street on Sunday morning, Dec. 31, according to the Coroner's Office. His cause and manner of death are pending further investigation, but there are no suspicious circumstances, said Coroner Daniel A. Buglio. Coroner IDs Infant, Woman Killed In Allentown Shooting
Officials have named the woman and baby who were fatally shot in an Allentown home last Friday, Dec. 29. They were 44-year-old Ada Ortiz and her 1-year-old grandson Sebastian Serrano, said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. Officials said Ortiz died from multiple gunshot wounds while Serrano's autopsy was still ongoing as of midday Tuesday, Jan. 2. Both of their deaths have been ruled homicides, the Coroner added. A man, a woman, and a baby were found shot in Allentown, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio told Daily Voice on Saturday.
