Two Displaced By Afternoon Blaze In Allentown
Two people were displaced when fire broke out at an Allentown residence around 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7, officials told Daily Voice. It happened at 301 North 10th Street, Capt. John Christopher of the Allentown Fire Department said. Officials believe started in the rear kitchen area of the first floor. Allentown Woman, 81, Burns To Death Lighting Candles: Coroner
An 81-year-old Allentown woman is dead after her clothes caught fire while lighting candles, authorities say. Dolores Fahrman was at home lighting candles just before 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11 when she accidentally lit her clothes, said Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio in a statement. Fahrman died after 46.5 percent of her body's surface area was burned, he added. The death has been ruled an accident, and remains under investigation by the Allentown Fire Department, the coroner said.

Man Hospitalized After Falling Into Lehigh Valley River, Police Say
Emergency crews came to the rescue of a man who fell into a Lehigh Valley river on Thursday, May 19, authorities said. Allentown Police responded to Adams Island and found the victim submerged in the river just after 7:15 p.m., Police Chief Charles Roca said. 'Person In Crisis' Rescued From Ledge Of Allentown Bridge
Police in Lehigh County rescued a man apparently threatening to jump off the ledge of an Allentown bridge Monday night, authorities said. With help from the Allentown Fire Department, officers were able to convince the man to come back over the ledge of the 8th Street Bridge around 11 p.m., after nearly four hours on the scene, Allentown police said. Allentown Woman Dies From Burn Injuries Month After House Fire
An Allentown woman died Monday from burns sustained in a house fire last month, authorities said. Maria Lantigua Pilar, 79, died of complications from 3rd-degree burns during a house fire in the 400 Block of North Railroad Street on April 10, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's office. She was pronounced dead at the Lehigh Valley Hospice, Inpatient Unit on Monday. Her death was ruled an accident, the office said.
