A tractor-trailer fire shuttered part of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia for hours, Pennsylvania State Police explained on Friday morning. The tractor-trailer was already ablaze when it jackknifed on I-95 South at mile marker 25.6 in Philadelphia County near the Betsy Ross Bridge into New Jersey around 7:30 a.m. on June 28, state police detailed in the release. A fatal crash is closed Route 422 Friday morning, authorities say. The crash happened in the eastbound lanes at mile marker 188, Lower Providence Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania State Police told Daily Voice around 8 a.m. on June 28. Officials have identified the 30-year-old motorcycle rider who died in a crash on Interstate 78 on Wednesday, June 26. Edgar J. Guadarrama Jaimes of Coopersburg was involved in a crash near Exit 58 around 11:45 a.m., said the Lehigh County Coroner's Office. He was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple traumatic injuries and the manner of death was ruled accidental. The motorcycle, a tractor-trailer, and a Honda Pilot were involved in a wreck near Exit 58 around 11:45 a.m., according to state police. Trooper Rear-Ended By Tractor Trailer On I-76 In Philadelphia
A Pennsylvania State Police trooper was hospitalized after being struck by a tractor trailer on I-76 overnight in Philadelphia, police said. The officer was conducting stationary work enforcement in the westbound lanes with his emergency lights fully activated near milepost 340.5 in Philadelphia, when he was struck around 3:50 a.m., a spokesperson for the agency said. The trooper sustained moderate injuries as a result of the impact and was taken by Philadelphia Fire and EMS to the hospital for further evaluation.
