A police officer on his first solo shift helped save a woman’s life after she went into cardiac arrest following a crash in South Jersey last month, authorities said. At 8:23 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, officers responded to to Greentree Road in front of All American Assisted Living for a report of a vehicle that struck a telephone pole, Washington Township police said. A woman died after her arm was bitten off by a shark at a popular St. Croix beach in the US Virgin Islands, authorities said. Arlene Lillis of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, was identified as the victim who died on Thursday, Jan. 8. The shark bit the 56-year-old woman's arm in the water at Dorsch Beach in Frederiksted.
