Neighbors were evacuated after two grenades were found on the front porch of a vacant home in West Philadelphia, police announced on Friday, Sept. 19. The devices were discovered on the 5800 block of Norfolk Street, and a staging area was set at 59th Street and Norfolk Street, according to the release on Friday, Sept. 19 at 6:42 p.m. The Philadelphia Police Bomb Squad responded and examined the devices, authorities said on Friday, Sept. 19 at 7:37 p.m. The bomb squad determined the devices were not functional, police said on Friday, Sept. 19.
