Volunteer PA Firefighter Accused Of Setting 3 Fires, Then Responding To Them: Affidavit
A volunteer firefighter is accused of setting three fires across Montgomery County and then helping battle two of the blazes, authorities announced.
Justin Tyler Sholly, 29, of Souderton, was arrested on Sunday, May 31, after investigators linked him to three intentionally set fires in Franconia Township and Souderton over a roughly 30-hour period, according to Pennsylvania State Police and court records.
Sholly, a member of the Perseverance Volunteer Fire Company, admitted to setting all three fires during an interview with detectives, according to the criminal complaint.

Berks Man Killed After Crossing Center Line, Crashing Into Trash Truck On Route 724: Coroner
A man was killed after his pickup truck crossed the center line and crashed into a trash truck, the coroner announced on Wednesday, March 18.
Justin Braun, 47, of Shillington, was driving westbound in the 1800 block of Philadelphia Avenue, also known as Route 724, in Cumru Township on Tuesday afternoon, March 17, when his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck an eastbound trash truck, according to the Berks County Coroner’s Office.
Braun was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:40 p.m. by Berks County Coroner Matthew J. Stitzel, the release states.

Nearly 20K Without Power After Storm Downs Trees, Lines Across PA
Thousands remain without electricity after severe thunderstorms and high winds tore through the region Monday evening, utility officials said.
About 70,000 customers experienced outages since the start of the storm on Monday, March 16, according to PPL Electric Utilities.
As of 7 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, more than 50,000 customers had their power restored, while approximately 19,800 customers remained without service.
Crews are working around the clock to assess damage and restore power as safely and quickly as possible, the utility said.

Troopers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Pleasant Ridge Road in Bethel Township, in Fulton County, around 12:50 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15, to assist emergency services with a reported house fire, according to the release.

A Littlestown dad killed in a late-night head-on crash in Adams County is now being remembered at the site where his life was cut short.
Daniel A. Miller, 31, died after a two-vehicle crash on Basehoar School Road in Union Township at 11:47 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Saturday, Jan. 17.
Miller was driving a 1999 Honda CRV east when the crash happened near 394 Basehoar School Road, state police said.

A woman was killed when a fast-moving fire tore through a Pocono Lake home, collapsing the structure as crews worked to reach her, police said on Friday, Nov. 28.
