Armed Man Leads Multi-County Pursuit, Threatens Suicide Before Arrest: PSP
An armed York man led police on a multi-county chase before holding a pistol to his head, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Paul Witman Jr., 30, of York, was wanted on an active arrest warrant for multiple domestic violence charges when troopers spotted his vehicle around 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, according to PSP Jonestown.
Troopers attempted a traffic stop, but Witman struck an embankment and fled, police said. An attempted PIT maneuver failed, and Witman drove through a farm pasture before his vehicle became disabled on electric fence wire.

A head-on crash between a passenger bus and a car left a woman seriously injured in Tobyhanna Township, police announced on Monday, Sept. 15.
The collision happened at the intersection of State Route 940 and the Interstate 380 northbound on-ramp at 11:01 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, according to Pocono Mountain Regional Police.

NJ Dad, Canadian Pilot ID’d After Helicopter Crash In Pennsylvania
A New Jersey father and a Canadian pilot have been identified as the two men killed in a helicopter crash in Pennsylvania, Carbon County Coroner Mark K. Smith announced on Saturday, Sept. 13.
The victims were 52-year-old Jeffrey Patmore of Terrace, British Columbia, and 40-year-old Michael S. Higgins of Haddon Township, New Jersey, Smith said.
The crash happened around 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, in a wooded area of Penn Forest Township near the 300 block of Maury Road by Penn’s Peak concert hall in Jim Thorpe, the coroner confirmed.
