A 2-year-old girl drowned after getting into a neighbor’s pool in Stowe Township on Monday night, Allegheny County Police announced.
Officers were called to the 1100 block of 12th Street around 7 p.m. on Monday, July 28, for a reported drowning, police said.
When first responders arrived, they found residents performing CPR on the child, according to the release. The girl was taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
On Tuesday morning, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Mykhia Worthy.

A 3-year-old boy who was found unresponsive in a swimming pool in Northampton County has died from complications of drowning, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio announced Friday, July 11.
Colonial Regional Police were dispatched to a home in Northampton County around 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2025, after receiving reports of a young boy drowning, according to the release.
Emergency crews removed the child from the pool and performed CPR before transporting him to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, authorities said.

Inmate Found Unresponsive At Lehigh County Jail Dies: Investigation Underway
A Lehigh County Jail inmate was found unresponsive in his cell on Saturday, Dec. 14, and later pronounced dead, authorities said.
Linwood Jones, 62, was discovered unresponsive in his cell at the Allentown facility around 4:20 p.m., according to the Lehigh County Department of Corrections. Staff immediately declared a medical emergency and began CPR before EMS arrived and took over, Director of Corrections Janine Donate said.
Jones was transported to St. Luke's Hospital-Allentown by ambulance, where he was pronounced dead at 5:20 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, officials said.
