An "active police incident" that shuttered a neighborhood in Chambersburg on Tuesday, Sept. 17 turned out to be part of a homicide investigation launched the previous night, police explained. The public was asked to avoid the area of Nicholson Square Village "for an active police incident" at 11:16 a.m. the department stated in its original release.
