A Penn Hills police officer has died suddenly, the department announced.
Officer Ryan J. Kingerski, 26, of Monroeville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, according to his obituary.
“It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Officer Ryan Kingerski, a dedicated member of our police family,” the department said in a statement.
Kingerski served with the Penn Hills Police Department for the past three years, earning a reputation for his unwavering commitment and professionalism in protecting the community, police said.

A second teenager has been shot dead in Harrisburg in less than two days, police announced on Tuesday morning, Aug. 13.
Antoine M. Byers Jr., 17, of Harrisburg, died in the shooting, his family announced on Facebook.
