Officers responded to the 1500 block of Passey Lane at 6:23 p.m. after reports of a shooting, arriving one minute after being dispatched by Lancaster County-Wide Communications, police said in a release.
The two teenage boys, were found with gunshot wounds and were transported to LGH Penn Medicine with injuries described as non-life-threatening, authorities stated.
The initial investigation revealed that the victims and the shooter knew each other, and police do not believe there is any ongoing danger to the public.
"We believe several witnesses in that complex on Passey Lane may have information about this shooting," Chief Fisher said, urging residents with any details or residential video surveillance to come forward. Tips can be submitted anonymously by calling 717-569-6401.
Chief Fisher commended police, paramedics, and the community for their quick actions, which he believes contributed to the positive outlook for the victims’ recovery.
“Multiple members of the community called 911 moments after the shooting. The quick actions taken by them, police, and paramedics resulted in immediate medical aid to the two victims, which hopefully will positively impact their eventual recovery," Fisher added.
The investigation is ongoing.
