Grave Robber Arrest In Swatara Township: Police The man who stole a grave monument from a cemetery has been identified and arrested, Swatara Township police announced on Friday, Sept. 27.  Anthony Reyes-Pabon, 24, of Harrisburg has been charged in connection with the theft of a grave monument at the William Howard Day Cemetery.  Reyes-Pabon was charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking, Institutional Vandalism of a Cemetery, and Desecration of Venerated Objects.  He was taken into custody on Friday, Sept. 26.  His preliminary hearing was held before Judge Rebecca Jo Margerum at 11:45 a.m. where bail was set at…

Fire Truck, Street Sweeper Collide In Central PA, Police Say A street sweeper and a fire truck collided in Central Pennsylvania on Friday, May 12, 2023.  The crash happened in the 1700 block of Highland Street at 9:50 a.m., according to police The crash involved a Swatara Township Fire-Rescue fire truck and a Swatara Township street sweeper, the police explained. "There were no injuries resulting from this accident," police said.  The accident is being investigated by the township police.

Man Arrested After Jumping In Susquehanna River To Avoid Apprehension A man jumped into the Susquehanna River last Wednesday to avoid apprehension on a warrant in a different county, according to Swatara Township police. Police responded to a call of a drunk man trespassing in the 800 Block of N. Front Street, Wormleysburg on July 14 around 2:15 p.m. When officers arrived, the man fled on foot and jumped into the Susquehanna River. Multiple Public Safety Units were dispatched and rescued the male from the river, as Emergency Dispatch Services supervisors told Daily Voice at the time of the incident. Driver Charged With Attempted Homicide After Stabbing Passenger In Harrisburg, Police Say A 57-year-old man was charged with attempted homicide after stabbing the passenger of his vehicle with a knife Thursday in what Swatara Township police are calling a domestic incident. Police responded to the Harrisburg Hospital around 10:15 a.m., where the victim arrived with stab wounds, police said. An investigation found that the victim was heading westbound on Derry Street in a car with Warren Mayo in Harrisburg, when Mayo assaulted the victim with a knife, Swatara police said.
