The cause of a fire — that displaced more than 130 residents in Central Pennsylvania on Easter Sunday evening — has been released, officials said. Crews were called to the fire at former Masland Factory and newly opened Northside Village Apartments located at 5 Northside Lane just off Carlisle Springs Road in Carlisle at 5:43 p.m. on March 31. Carlisle Springs Road remained closed for several hours as over 50 firefighters from six companies responded to the scene. A 70-year-old Shippensburg resident is in the hospital in Maryland following a fire on Tuesday evening, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Thursday, Feb. 1. Deborah Westbrook's single-family home at 303 Dwelling Court had a fire break out near the entryway at 5:48 p.m. on Jan. 30, Trooper First Class Kemerer detailed in the release. Westbrook was found by Shippensburg firefighters who entered the smoke-filled home through the first window about a minute later. No one was injured when several rowhomes partially collapsed in central Pennsylvania on Friday, July 22, authorities say in an updated release the following Monday. Crews were called to the collapse in the 1400 block of Market Street in Lower Allen Township, Camp Hill around 3:20 p.m., according to emergency dispatch. Seven row homes were heavily damaged by a fire— leaving 41 People without shelter— on Thursday, June 9, authorities say. The fire started on the porch of a row home in the 400 block of 15th Street near Berryhill Street in Harrisburg, according to local fire officials. The fire broke out in the 100 block of Lincoln Street near North Pershing Avenue in York on Sunday just before 10:30 a.m., according to fire officials. York City Fire and Rescue Services were called to the 200 block of West Jackson Street for a residential fire around 11 p.m., where the blaze had spread to multiple apartments.
