Suspect Named In Cold-Blooded Harrisburg Street Murder (Update)

Police have identified a suspect in the fatal shooting of a man found dead on Nectarine Street in Harrisburg, authorities announced Monday, Dec. 9, 2024.

Santiago Gutierrez, 29, is wanted for murder after allegedly shooting Jhonny Torres, 25, dead in the middle of the street, police said. Gutierrez, who fled the scene immediately after the shooting, has been charged with murder and firearm not to be carried without a license.

Officers responded to the 300 block of Nectarine Street around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, after reports of gunfire and found Torres lying in the roadway with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gutierrez remains at large, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Authorities are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact Harrisburg Police. A Crime Stoppers reward may be available for tips leading to his capture.
