Children's Hospital of Philadelphia colleagues say Barbara Friedes "represents the best in all of us."
Friedes, a 30-year-old chief pediatric resident at CHOP, died after her bicycle was struck by a Volkswagen on Spruce Street Wednesday evening, July 17, authorities said.
"This news is unimaginably devasting to all who know her — most importantly her devoted husband, Cole, and her loving family," colleagues wrote on GoFundMe.

An unlicensed Pennsylvania man has been arrested after authorities say he led a high-speed police pursuit that ended in a crash in Virginia.
Scott Parsons, 34, of Minnersville, PA, was spotted Saturday, Feb. 3, by a Winchester police officer who initiated a pursuit onto I-81 near the 312-mile-marker in Frederick County, VA, where state police took the lead, Sgt. Brent W. Coffey said.

Two Pennsylvanians died, and two others were injured in a South Jersey crash Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
Timothy Millett, 51, of Clarks Summit, PA was driving west on Deliah Road in Egg Harbor Township, NJ in his 2015 Volkswagen when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2013 Mazda CX9 driven by John Ward, 52, of Lansdale, PA, around 1:30 p.m., according to the Egg Harbor Township Police Department.
