A US Army paratrooper and father of three was tragically struck and killed by a bus, according to a GoFundMe campaign started by his family.
Christopher "Chris" McGarvey was killed in a crash at 11:47 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, his ex-wife, Coleen McGarvey, said in the GoFundMe.
"Chris was a veteran who served multiple tours overseas with the US Army," according to the GoFundMe campaign. "If you knew Chris you were lucky, because you knew that you had a good friend! You would also know how much he loved his kids."

A former firefighter in multiple counties in Pennsylvania and a Vietnam veteran died on Wednesday, Sept. 11, his former station announced.
Blaine W. Horn, 75, of Slatedale, passed away at his home, according to his obituary posted on Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc.'s website.
He was known in his community as the former Fire Chief of Citizen’s Fire Company #1 for over 40 years and the current Fire Marshal of Slatedale, but his service to his community dates back much further.

PA Driver Charged In Pursuit That Left Motorcyclist Dead In NJ
A 32-year-old Pennsylvania man has been charged after a police pursuit led to the death of a motorcyclist, a Vietnam War veteran, in Warren County on Tuesday, Aug. 13, authorities said.
At 10:19 a.m., a New Jersey State Trooper began following an SUV on Route 80 eastbound and initiated a traffic stop, the Warren County Prosecutor's Office said.
The driver of the SUV, Sean Mamakas, a Kempton, PA resident, continued traveling eastbound, exiting the interstate at Exit 12 and headed toward County Road 521 southbound in Hope Township, authorities said.
