Philadelphia Firefighter Brian Conklin Dies After Decade Of Service Brian Conklin, a 10-year veteran of the Philadelphia Fire Department, died unexpectedly while off-duty on Tuesday, Sept. 26, said colleagues and loved ones.  Conklin most recently served at Ladder 4in the Southwest, PFD said in a statement.  We are deeply saddened at the loss of Firefighter Brian Conklin, who passed away while off-duty on Tuesday. Philly Mass Shooting Victim Was 'Selfless,' Friends Say Joseph Wamah, one of the five declared dead following a mass shooting in southwest Philadelphia during Independence Day celebrations, was a "consistently positive, charismatic, selfless person," those close to him say.  Wamah and four others were named as alleged victims of 40-year-old Kimbrady Carriker, who police believe opened fire with an AR-15-style rifle in Kingsessing late on July 3.  More recently, police have said Wamah actually died the day prior to the Kingsessing attack on July 2, according to Philadelphia City Councilmember Jamie Gauthier.  Gauthier said police responded to th…
