Police in Berks County have arrested one suspect involved in a shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon in Reading. Officers arriving at the 1100 block of Marion Street on reports of multiple shots fired located 18-year-old Angel Ortega with a gunshot wound, lying on the sidewalk next to a gun that was found to be stolen from the Reading Police Department, authorities said. A grueling house fire left a Berks County husband and wife dead over the weekend. First responders were called to a home in the 100 block of Orchard View Drive in Amity Township around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, 6abc reports. Firefighters found Elder Henry J. Police in Montgomery County have ruled that a stabbing in Pottstown on Wednesday night was in self-defense. Officers found 38-year-old Johon Ford, of Norristown with a minor stab wound to his upper chest at 24 N. Charlotte Street around 8:40 p.m., according to Pottstown police chief Michael Markovich. Authorities have identified the motorcyclist killed in a Berks County crash as a 22-year-old man. Anthony Rota, of Boyertown, was heading west on Route 422 when he lost control and struck a guardrail around 8:30 a.m. in Exeter, according to police. Police in Berks County are investigating after a gunshot victim succumbed to his injuries at Reading Hospital. Officers arrived at the hospital on June 17 around 1:20 a.m. to find a victim with multiple gunshot wounds stemming from an incident that occurred in the 600 block of North 10th Street, according to the City of Reading Police Department.
