5 Dead In Pottstown Home Explosion: Authorities Five people were dead and several trapped in rubble when a house exploded Thursday, May 26 in Pottstown, authorities said. UPDATE: The victims have been identified. Two people were taken to local hospitals for treatment after the blast, which happened around 8:05 p.m. on Hale Street and Butler Avenue, borough officials confirmed.
