Montco First Responder Dies After On-Duty Stroke More than two weeks after suffering a stroke in the line of duty, a Montgomery County first responder has died, officials announced.  Jay Miles, an emergency medical technician with the Upper Perkiomen Valley Ambulance service and Chaplain in the Pennsburg Volunteer Fire Company, passed away on April 1, his colleagues announced in a statement.  Miles and a partner were responding to a call for a medical emergency late on Monday, March 13, UPVA officials said.
