A man was shot and killed in the parking lot of a mosque on Tuesday evening, July 30, according to Philadelphia police. Raheem Jefferson, 43, suffered multiple gunshot wounds near Al-Aqsa Islamic Society, 1501 Germantown Avenue, authorities said. He was taken to Temple Hospital and pronounced dead at 5:13 p.m. "The scene is in a parking lot of a mosque, a place of worship," PPD Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters. Carjacking Outside Pennsylvania Mosque Leaves Man Dead: Report
A 65-year-old man was shot dead outside of an Upper Darby mosque late on Sunday evening, Oct. 29, 6abc reports. It happened near the Masjid Al Madinah Upper Darby Islamic Center around 7:45 p.m., according to the outlet. The victim, identified by loved ones as Mahabub Rahaman, was shot by armed carjackers during an attempted robbery, 6abc wrote. Congregants were praying at a mosque in Paterson when three intruders suddenly burst in and threw rocks at them, authorities confirmed.
